Many visitors to the hall noted the interior was pleasant. Sadly, the building was struggling and was 17 years past its predicted life as these photos show. The panels were rotting and there was strutural rot as well, this damage was surveyed annually for safety reasons as discussed in the literature put on during the referendum debate in November 2017. Some have disputed our view on this but we were advised that refurbishment of the existing structure would have been a poor use of a lot of money.
The village hall is a free standing charity, it is commonly thought to be the responsibility of the parish council, it is not although there is close cooperation as it is an asset for everyone in Repton and Milton to enjoy.
